CCleaner Beta Version Now Available For Android

CCleaner is a well known name in desktop software, and now it's coming to Android as a beta app. You can try it out right now for free, and all it takes is a few clicks. This app can go through your Android device and identify space that can be reclaimed in mere moments.

This app is being tested in a standard Google Play beta program. That means you simply have to join the Google+ group, then opt into the test to download the app. It will show up in the Play Store normally for you as long as you're logged in with your primary account.

The app uses a clean interface that's compliant with the current Android design guidelines. The main page has buttons to quickly analyze and clean your device's internal storage. It also offers to get rid of some pieces of unneeded personal data, but most of the cleaning consists of clearing out application cache. All the apps on your phone or tablet can save a bit of data to speed up loading--usually web assets or images.

CCleaner will offer to go through and empty all this out and help you reclaim some space. It can be upwards of several gigabytes if you have a large number of apps. The apps you use often will slowly cache content as needed, but you can empty it out whenever you want. It doesn't affect and account info or settings.

The app also includes an app manager for batch uninstalling apps and a system stats panel. CCleaner is worth checking out while it's in beta.
